Sample Event

A Troop 19 looking up and smiling while treading water in a swimming pool.

A Troop 19 member smiles and holds up a small fish that she was caught. This is where we would be a short description of the event, when it happened, what we did, why it was important. Next, we would add pictures. Like this one above and the one to the right. The image above is set up as a block in WordPress. The image to the right is an image inserted into a paragraph block right before the text starts. I’ve added some CSS to it so that the image floats to right and text wraps around the image. The CSS also adjusts the image width and adds 20px of margin all the way around the image. Here’s the CSS I added: style=”width: 300px; float: right; margin: 20px;. You adjust the margin for the sides, top, and bottom individually as well. You can also see it by using the WordPress “edit as HTML” option. Make sure to add ALT text to the images when you add them to WordPress. You’ll want to do that as you add the images to WordPress. The goal with the ALT text is to briefly describe what’s in the picture. For example, the picture with the fish is currently “A Troop 19 member smiles and holds up the small fish she has caught.” There are certainly other ways I could have described the image. The key is to describe the image in a way that someone who couldn’t see the image would get the key bits of information.
